Forest Lake College Patron - Brian Kerle

Brian Kerle has a background encompassing Olympic, national and state representation in basketball as both a player and a coach.

Brian has represented Australia in 100 games around the world and has coached both St Kilda and the Brisbane Bullets to National Basketball League (NBL) victories.

Brian also coached the Brisbane Bullets and became administrative manager of the Brisbane Basketball Association.  

In March 2000 Brian joined Sport and Recreation Queensland to run the “Thanks Coach, Thanks Ref” and was instrumental in designing and implementing this initiative, which recognised and promoted the efforts of coaches and officials at all levels of sport in the Queensland community.

Brian is currently coordinating a state wide series of “Locker Room” forums that give Queenslanders the chance to swap ideas with Queensland's leading coaches, athletes and other experts on different issues impacting on the sport industry.

He is also continuing his involvement in basketball through coaching the Western Magic Junior club teams in the Brisbane Basketball Incorporated (BBI) junior competition.

Brian Kerle was also initiated into the NBL Hall of Fame in 2006 in appreciation and recognition of his coaching abilities to the sport.
