Primary School, Prep to Year 3

The Prep Year is the foundation for developing a positive attitude toward learning,  in a happy and stimulating learning environment. Children learn by observing, listening and experimenting, and make sense of their world by using imagination and reason. The program focuses on important preparatory skills for reading and writing and perceptual motor programs to develop fine and gross motor skills. In the Prep year children commence with Mandarin and Music lessons learnt more easily from a young age.

In Years 1 to 3 students learn the skills of reading, spelling, listening and writing and mathematics. All children are given the opportunity to learn these basics and learners who require additional support are identified and provided with assistance.

A balanced curriculum approach is ensured as children learn through the eight Key Learning Areas in the National Goals for Schooling; English, Mathematics, Science, Study of Society and the Environment (SOSE), The Arts, Technology, Health and Physical Education and Languages other than English (LOTE). Mandarin Chinese is the Language of study in the primary school years.

Children also are introduced to Instrumental Music and opportunities for performance skill development designed to expand the mind and develop self confidence.
