This after-school program is most suitable for students who wish to be extended beyond what is possible in a group situation, who have aspirations to compete in eisteddfod and other competitions, or who have ambitions to prepare for public examinations or to study the arts at a tertiary level.
Music students can be prepared for practical and theory or musicianship examinations conducted by either the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) or Trinity College London (TCL). An instrument hire facility also operates for students wishing to hire their instrument on a hire/try or hire/buy basis.
Speech and Drama students have recorded excellent examination results over the past four years. A Trinity College London examination sitting is held every June at the College. This enables students to sit for examinations in Effective Communication, Speech and Drama or Musical Theatre.
Through the Private Tuition Program, we aim to enhance the range of opportunities available to students, thereby maximising their long term prospects and leading ultimately to the fulfilment of their potential.
Regular liaison between the Head of Faculty, Performing Arts, classroom specialist teachers, private tuition teachers and the Coordinator of the Private Tuition Program ensures consistency and integration across all aspects of the College Program and allows each student's total development to be monitored.
Student profiles are kept for all students in the Private Tuition Program. Results of examinations, eisteddfod reports and other relevant documents are retained. In this way a comprehensive profile is being developed for the students as they progress through their school years.
Students participating in this program often use the ABCC or AM-PM Club after school facility. Arrangements can be made for students to attend their private lesson from ABCC or AM-PM Club and return to the after school care program at the completion of their private lesson.
